Roy G. Morris, born in Attica, Kansas, May 5, 1957 has been practicing law since 1983.  After earning a degree in accounting from Texas Tech University in 1979, Mr. Morris joined Arthur Andersen and Co. as a tax specialist and later received a law degree from the University of Texas as well as a Master’s Degree in Taxation from DePaul University in 1983.  Mr. Morris began practicing in one of the then largest law firms in Fort Worth, Texas, Gandy, Michener, Swindle, Whitaker and Pratt, P.C. and was later instrumental in forming the tax litigation section of a major Dallas law firm, Gardere and Wynne, L.L.P.  In 1989, due to his financial accounts background and actual education in taxation, Mr. Morris, while with Gardere and Wynne, L.L.P., was appointed to lead litigation teams responsible for closing savings and loan associations for FSLIC due to financial instability. Equipped with this experience with failing financial institutions, Mr. Morris received a governmental appointment to develop the in-house litigation section of the FDIC. Based on these experiences, Mr. Morris gained an extensive background in administrative and regulatory proceedings, with an emphasis in the representation of various financial institutions and taxpayers before the IRS.  Mr. Morris’ years of practicing law has resulted in his representation of numerous real estate developers, business owners, professional athletes, corporate entities and other entrepreneurs. As a result of his financial accounting background and representation of a diverse client base, Mr. Morris has developed his business practice around corporate entity transactions ranging from new entity formations to merger and acquisition activities.  A natural evolution of serving entity clients and their owners, as well as living in the local community for more than 32 years, has been the growth of a substantial estate planning, probate and business law practice.
